Bernard Baudry La Croix Boissee Chinon Trousseau this wine stands alone -La Croix Boisse carries Chinons limestone gravity with a quieter, more inward voice. Cabernet Franc shows itself in cool toned layers of blackcurrant leaf and crushed blackberry, edged by pencil shavings, damp cellar stone, and a faint echo of green peppercorn rather than overt pyrazine. The palate is taut and architecturalred and black fruit held in check by savory mineral tensionunfurling notes of iron filings, clove, and dried bay as it moves.
